• Liturgical Ministires

Liturgical ministry volunteers are dedicated lay members who perform vital roles during worship services, such as reading scripture, distributing Communion, and assisting at the altar. They are essential because they actively facilitate communal prayer, ensuring services run smoothly while allowing the congregation to engage more deeply in their shared faith.

To get involved in any of these ministries, contact Dawn Grabs at dgrabs@spxmission.org or 913-259-4801. If you are already a volunteer in one of these ministries, you can manage your schedule and sign up for new slots through the parish app. or an email from the coordinator. To download the parish app, search your App Store or Google Play Store “St. Pius X Catholic Parish.” Enter your phone number to connect to your account. Accept to receive notifications.

    LECTORS

Adults and mature youths are invited to proclaim the scripture readings during Masses and special liturgies. They prepare ahead of time and may also read the petitions and announcements. Lector schedules are managed by Erlene Goff-Lews. Contact Erlene here.

Adults and youth who are confirmed and in good standing with the Catholic Church can share the Eucharist during Mass or take communion to the homebound. Hospitality schedules are managed by Dawn Grabs. Contact Dawn here. If you want to bring Communion to parishioners who cannot physically attend Mass, please contact Deacon Steve Bauer to learn how to do this.
